Preston
& District League Rules Part two
Each
team shall consist of 6 players and 6 singles games shall
constitute a match. The following scoring system shall apply.
1 point awarded for each game won. 1 bonus point awarded
to the team with the highest aggregate score at the end
of six frames. In the event of a tie the last two players
at the table shall respot the black and spin a coin to determine
the striker.
Teams
failing to provide six players will be dealt with as follows:-

1st offence - written warning
- 2nd
offence - £20.00 fine
- 3rd
offence - expulsion form the league.
At the end of each season the bottom teams of the 1st, 2nd,
3rd and 4th divisions will be relegated and replaced by
the top three teams of divisions 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The Home Captain informs the visiting captain of his first
player or first two players in the case of teams with two
tables. On the completion of that game the next players
on will be notified to the away captain. This procedure
to be adopted until all six games have been completed.
The
English Association for Snooker and Billiards (EASB) Rules
shall apply to all league games, and the decision of the
referee shall be final.
All scores shall be phoned through to G. Jackson between
4.30pm and 7.00pm the Thursday following the match. If the
match result is not phoned through at the stated time, then
a penalty of £5.00 shall be enforced. This amount to be
paid before a team can register for the following season.
Team registration fees of £20.00 per team to be paid on
the Wednesday following the final league fixtures of the
preceding season. Player's registration fees to be paid
as per the date on the players registration form. Players
may register throughout the season and may play as soon
as they have been registered and the appropriate fees paid.
No player may play for more than one league Club in any
one season unless permission to do so is granted by the
Management Committee.
The Preston North End Snooker Club Individual, St Bernard's
Catholic Club Knockout and Greenlands Labour Club 4 Man
Team to be competed for annually in accordance with the
competition rules supplied each year in the Handbook. The
deadline for entries for all three competitions is the 1st
October and any received after this date will not be considered.
All matches for the St Bernard's Team Knockout Trophy (except
all those with one table) to be played as follows:
1st
four matches to be played on two tables, last two matches
to be played on one table unless otherwise agreed by the
two captains. (Up to the semi-finals and final).
All competition trophies are the property of the League
and shall be held by the winners for 12 months. The League
will present 7 trophies per winning team e.g. winners and
runners up and promoted teams.
Players
from clubs entering two teams in the League shall sign to
play for one team only. In the event of a player wishing
to transfer from one team or another, written permission
from the Management Committee must be obtained.
All
matches to be played on full size tables, using super crystallite
balls.
All teams to provide a delegate who will receive the League
correspondence at their home address and be responsible
for passing on all information to (with regards to draws
of competitions etc) to his team colleagues. In the result
of a tie for promotion or relegation in the League the teams
involved shall play home and away as per League rules, but
only one point for the overall aggregate over the two matches.
a) Teams not completing league fixtures will have to reapply
to the League for the forthcoming season/
b) Ladies to be allowed to play snooker or spectate in all
registered clubs in the League on match nights or competitions

Captains must keep a record of all score cards, so that
if a query arises the Committee can take the necessary action
Clubs with two or more tables must provide two tables per
team on match nights.
Players
registered for a club playing in the Preston and District
League must be at least 16 years of age and paid up members
of that club.
Any member of the League using abusive or obscene language
of any description will be brought before the Committee
and disciplined at the Committee's discretion.
The Committee retain the right to keep all trophies and
prize money if a team is not at the presentation.
Professionals playing in the league will be handicapped
for league matches as follows;
Division
1 - 28 points per frame
Division
2 - 42 points per frame
Division
3 - 49 points per frame
Division
4 - 56 points per frame
Division
5 - 63 points per frame
In
all league competitions professional players will give 35
points per frame.
All foregoing rules shall be strictly adhered to. Any infringement
of such will be dealt with by the Committee. Footnote: The
Handicap Committee reserve the right to re-handicap teams
and players after the 1st and 2nd rounds of any competitions.
All tables must be brushed and ironed before commencing
a game.
