Cannons off the Black

The ability to pot the black whilst also disturbing the reds clustered around it will enhance your break building potential.

As your ability to construct breaks develops you will realise how important it is to leave the correct angle on a pot to facilitate cannons. As shown, place the white just below the black and a row of reds above the black, to make the cannons on the reds whilst potting the black into the corner pocket.

Move the position of the white to familiarise yourself with the differing amounts of top and back spin required. Once you have a general understanding of how to play these shots, place the white above the black and come off the top cushion to make the cannon shown.

Promoting balls into potable positions during the course of a break will quickly increase the size of breaks you can achieve.
