World Champions
This
link contains details of the finalists of the World Championships,
since it was sponsored by Embassy.
The
first final in 1976 was held at the Wythenshaw Arena in Manchester,
before it was relocated to the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield
in 1977. The Crucible has now become synonymous with the Embassy
World Championships, witnessing many, memorable moments during
the course of the last 25 years.
